We believe that the furniture we surround ourselves with should be more than either beautiful or practical - it should be personal.
Lozi (n, Persian) – a rhombus. Used in describing traditional woodworking techniques, textile designs and architecture.
Lozi (adj. Zambian) - ‘plain’
Founded in 2012 by Soroush Pourhashemi, Lozi designs and makes minimal modern wooden furniture. Every Lozi piece is made by hand from our shop/workshop on Hackney Road in East London.
Known for our unique combination of digital manufacturing and traditional woodworking methods, Lozi’s designs are elegantly minimal, full of personality and will fit seamlessly into any contemporary home. Soroush's passion for innovation and engineering knowledge (gained during his Masters at Brunel University) underpins Lozi's aesthetic and ethos.
Lozi's approach to design is based around two central considerations: Personalisation and Sustainability. We strive to create furniture pieces that will be loved for years to come, all without costing the earth.
Over the years, Lozi has received critical acclaim, with pieces featuring national papers like The Sunday Times and The Evening Standard as well as acclaimed online platforms and a customer base spanning Europe and the US. Lozi has showcased its collections at several large trade and design shows in London, including Grand Designs Live, 100% Design and Clerkenwell Design Week.
Lozi is based at 278 Hackney Road, London E2 7SJ, with a Work/Shop open to the public.
We believe that furniture should be personal and unique, treasured pieces close to the heart that can be passed down through generations, loved and appreciated over time rather than thrown out during the next move.
This is why we offer a wide range of customisation options, ensuring your furniture is perfectly adapted to your personal tastes and individual needs. Each piece is made to order and to measure in our workshop and we only hold stock for our small accessories and the £9.99 Collection, our designs can very flexible. Our Work/Shop in Hackney is open to the public and we encourage our customers to experience first-hand our manufacturing process.
All pieces in our collection can be made to custom measurements and we offer a standard range of paint colours and veneer options as well as the option of custom surfaces (laminate, bespoke paint colours or any unique finishes you may have in mind)
We also offer an extensive Bespoke service, from one of a kind furniture pieces as unique as your home, bespoke wardrobes, unique kitchens and made to measure storage or even an entire home redesign thanks to our House of Lozi service. Please see the Bespoke section for more information or get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
Great and personal design should not cost the earth – we continuously develop new techniques to minimise our environmental impact, from re-using our waste to sourcing eco-friendly raw materials.
We take great care when we design our pieces to ensure our look is modern and minimal and we strive to give our pieces an appeal that will last for years, thus reducing waste and fighting against our current throwaway culture. We also care about how furniture feels and that’s why we use natural and sustainable materials to produce our pieces.
