St. Marks Rise, London E8

Minimal kitchens for a characterful building
This was our second collaboration with design-focussed London property developer Artform, following the success of their Hyde project. For St Mark’s Rise—a unique collection of three homes in Dalston—Artform asked Lozi to design and build bespoke kitchens that would suit the building’s original character while adding a modern, minimal touch.
At the heart of the design is a distinctive custom handle, developed especially for the project. Crafted from ash and walnut, the handle echoes the exposed beams above, with tactile detailing that celebrates the joinery rather than concealing it. We explored several prototypes before settling on a solution that is both durable and elegant—dark walnut to withstand wear, with clean fixings hidden entirely from view. Each kitchen features its own layout, with thoughtful touches like curved cabinet ends, minimal upper cupboards, and clever storage that keeps the spaces open and light.
The result is a minimal, warm and distinctive trio of kitchens that feel rooted in the building while offering a clear design identity of their own, and tactile details that feel like home from the moment you step inside.
