Guest Bedroom

Anne-Cecile & Tom, London E2

A refreshing guest bedroom design, to make your friends and family feel at home

Our returning clients, Anne-Cecile and Tom, sought made-to-measure furniture for the guest bedroom in their natural-light-filled, East London home. In collaboration with us, they wanted to create the perfect relaxed environment where their guests could escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The furniture needed to echo the natural palette that runs through the rest of the house, accommodating short or long stays whilst not overcrowding the space.

Previously, we had developed furniture for their work-from-home setup, and in keeping with the style of that project, we designed a built-in wardrobe tailored to the exact measurements. The bottom of the unit provides deep-closed storage for clothes, while the top offers light dowel shelving entwined together by our joyful Wave joints. Due to the depth being too shallow for side-on hangers, we included front-facing hanging space for dresses, shirts and coats, optimising the depth of the space. To secure the wardrobe to the wall and maintain a minimal, seamless aesthetic, we included our elegant signature plywood fixtures.

We included two bedside tables that sit perfectly over the skirting board and comfortably within the space. The curved handles and natural plywood finish of the bedside and wardrobe tie the pieces together, ensuring cohesion throughout the furniture. The characteristics of the natural tones are the perfect blank canvas for Anne-Cecile and Tom's considered belongings, from a book of East London food spots to considered, abstract art. Now, friends and family can enjoy their relaxing stay, feeling at home the moment they step through the door.
